Hey, my name is Debbie and I am the creative force behind YVH-
For a little while, I ran a cozy little vegan micro-bakery out of my home in a sunny desert town in SoCal. It was an absolute blast, but here’s the thing—I realized my heart wasn’t just in baking. My true passion? Creating, sharing, and helping YOU live your best vegan life.
With a background in interior design (yep, that was my gig before Your Vegan Home), I decided it was time to take things to the next level—a full-on, holistic approach to the vegan lifestyle.
I’m talking about more than recipes. Think home decor, products, lifestyle tips, and even the big, soulful conversations about what it really means to be vegan in today’s world and beyond.
After nearly 13 years as a vegan and over 15 years as a designer, I thought, why not share some of the wisdom I’ve picked up along the way?
So welcome to Your Vegan Home—a place where you can kick off your shoes, nourish your body, mind, and soul, and connect with a vibrant, like-minded community. Whether you’re here for motivation, inspiration, or just a little slice of joy, this space is for YOU.
Vegan (or not), I welcome you to Your Vegan Home.
Much love,

Unfortunately, no. It was fun while it lasted but baking full time is A LOT of work and I decided it wasn’t for me.

That is definitely in the works for 2024!

To be honest, being vegan means a lot of different things to a lot of different people.
For me, I've made a choice to avoid all things animal-related in my life. From what I eat (no meat, dairy, eggs, or honey) to what I wear (no animal-derived materials). I do my best to live a cruelty-free existence.
I also try to be mindful of what goes into my cosmetics, personal care items, and household products, making sure they're not tested on animals and don’t contain animal ingredients.
My vegan journey isn't just about me; it's rooted in my compassion for animals and concern for our planet. So, I'm here to make choices that minimize harm and reduce the environmental impact of animal agriculture.
But here’s the truth- I'm not, perfect.
Even after living this lifestyle for over a decade, I still make mistakes and mess up sometimes. I really don’t think we can ever be perfect, there are just too many moving parts…
But that's okay. All we can do is the best we can to learn and grow, right?

Everybody is different- but for me, the answer is a resounding, No!
I didn't stop eating animals because it didn’t taste good. That being said, vegan products have come a loooooong way that they satisfy any craving I have!

I advocate for a slow transition. But everyone is different. Some people go cold “turkey” and never look back.
Gradually reduce animal product consumption. Begin with one category like meat or dairy.
The key is to have to take your time and have fun with it! Explore vegan alternatives for your favorite foods and experiment with plant-based recipes. Take the time to figure out what you like and what works best for you.
Ultimately, transitioning to a vegan diet is a personal journey, and the key is to find a sustainable approach that aligns with your values and goals.
