Hey, my name is Debbie and I am the creative force behind YVH-

For a little while, I ran a cozy vegan micro-bakery from my home in a sunny desert town in SoCal. It was a blast, but I soon realized my true passion is all about creating, sharing, and helping folks live their best vegan lives!

With a background in interior design (my former career before YVH), I decided it was time to offer a comprehensive and holistic approach to the vegan lifestyle.

That means diving deep into recipes, home decor, products, lifestyle, and having some profound conversations about what it really means to be vegan in today's world and beyond.

After living life as a vegan for nearly 13 years and a designer for over 15, I figured, why not share some of the nuggets of wisdom I've picked up along the way?

So, here's to you finding a cozy home here—a place with a strong and vibrant community that honors nourishing the body, mind, and soul. A place where you can find motivation, inspiration, and joy.

Vegan (or not), I welcome you to Your Vegan Home.

Much love,

FAQs

  • Unfortunately, no. It was fun while it lasted but baking full time is A LOT of work and I decided it wasn’t for me.

  • That is definitely in the works for 2024!

  • To be honest, being vegan means a lot of different things to a lot of different people.

For me, I've made a choice to avoid all things animal-related in my life. From what I eat (no meat, dairy, eggs, or honey) to what I wear (no animal-derived materials). I do my best to live a cruelty-free existence.

I also try to be mindful of what goes into my cosmetics, personal care items, and household products, making sure they're not tested on animals and don’t contain animal ingredients.

My vegan journey isn't just about me; it's rooted in my compassion for animals and concern for our planet. So, I'm here to make choices that minimize harm and reduce the environmental impact of animal agriculture.

But here’s the truth- I'm not, perfect.

Even after living this lifestyle for over a decade, I still make mistakes and mess up sometimes. I really don’t think we can ever be perfect, there are just too many moving parts…

But that's okay. All we can do is the best we can to learn and grow, right?

    D.

  • Everybody is different- but for me, the answer is a resounding, No!

I didn't stop eating animals because it didn’t taste good. That being said, vegan products have come a loooooong way that they satisfy any craving I have!

  • I advocate for a slow transition. But everyone is different. Some people go cold “turkey” and never look back.

Gradually reduce animal product consumption. Begin with one category like meat or dairy.

The key is to have to take your time and have fun with it! Explore vegan alternatives for your favorite foods and experiment with plant-based recipes. Take the time to figure out what you like and what works best for you.

Ultimately, transitioning to a vegan diet is a personal journey, and the key is to find a sustainable approach that aligns with your values and goals.
